Think I read that Drucker (management guru) had formulated something along these lines.
Cannot find anything about though.
ie something along thse lines.. employee gets job, develops, challenged, content etc..

Goes against another theory IIRC that humans are lazy and do not want to work.
Bit of a random posting but I cannot find anything about it now.
