WiFi 3/4G mobile internet dongle?

Orange want £15 a month so I can tether my phone to a laptop or tablet. I would barely use this so there is no point. I have been thinking of a pay as you go dongle but you can't use a USB one with an iPad.

So is there suce a thing as a WiFi dongle or even a plug in one that is compatible with iPads and windows laptops?

Thanks

Which phone do you have? Many let you turn your phone into a wifi hotspot..

Mifi sounds just what I am after. Just need to see how cheap I can get it on PAYG.

I have a HTC Sensation, it can be a WiFi hotspot but it is barred by Orange/EE and they want £15 a month to let me use it.

Or tell them to do one and change networks.

It's included on 02 and Vodafone I believe.
