The old forum used to have a "preview" button on the posting window. Useful to check out pictures etc, before posting blanks.
I can't see a preview button any more on the new forum. - Am I being dumb?

No preview, but you can Edit for about 15 minutes after the post...

Agreed, but if you post a picture, you see nothing except the URL. It's kind of reassuring to see the correct picture (via a preview) before posting.

So that's how it is, OK.

1) put the URL, less [img ] tags into browser address box to confirm it works
2) once you post you have 15 minutes to mess around till you get a working version

And even a preview wont fix the "gay porn" redirect issue you're worried about mountaincarrot, if you're worried about that I think a ctrl+F5 will clear your cache and check again for your hotlinked image.

No, I tried that, and it still gave me the Hellraiser pic I thought I was posting... 😯
