wearing a para tshirt and army equipment! travelling through some well dodgy areas 😯

Looks like it, but got a bit bored of him to be honest, Michael Palin warbling on in the background now...
he's not the most charismatic travel companion.
wow that was fast !!!!!!!
Crikey 😯
Now that was not what I was expecting. Aye carumba!
Just watching it on +1. That was genuinely shocking!!! 😯
In answer to the original question, I think wearing a Para t shirt generally informs everyone that you're absolutely ****ing nails!
A bit different from when Joanna Lumley did the Nile. It's fair to say that's not what I expected on a Sunday evening travel show. 😯
so the local know to bring numbers and or weapons?
better to understate that fact IMHO
Yes Blooming shocking and incredibly fast turn of events
That was a tragic turn of events. 40 is no age at all.
Reminded me just how dangerous weather / conditions can be.
*spoiler request*
what happened?
Did not expect that at all, looks like an incredible adventure but jeeeez.
Handled quite well I thought.
What was the fast turn of events? The robbery? It was all a bit low key and he and his companion dealt with it in the right way, relaxed, neutral, non-confrontational. The robbers wanted cash and valuables and a gesture was needed so arguing or resisting would have just got the travellers killed.
I found the stoned fishermen and the motorcycle mob in Kampala more alarming in some ways.
*spoiler request*what happened?
+1, intrigued now!
*Spoiler Alert*
The main guy doing the walk was joined by two experienced journalists - one American, one Brit.
After two days they were forced slightly away from the river onto grassland. With temperatures reaching 42 the US journo got into some trouble with heat stroke. Isolated and 3 miles from a water source, the man tragically died. This was in the space of around 2-3 hours.
Did you not watch it all the way through globalti? There was the small matter of the 40 year old American journalist dropping dead from heatstroke. It was shocking that in the space of an hour or two he went from 'he's struggling a bit now with the heat', to turning the camera back on and solemnly announcing that he'd just died 😯
I'd imagine that even for a seasoned ex-soldier, the speed of that would be difficult to process
Sheeeit - I must have gone out to make a cup of tea.
