Still got my ice stud tyres on my spare wheels, while I'm using my mud tyres.
Trails are drying out now, so thinking about swapping the ice tyres for summer tyres, putting them on the bike, and making the mud tyres my spares.
Good idea or not ?
Or just buy a third pair of wheels for all eventualities ?
doesnt really matter if it snows or not - 9/10 times narrow mud tires are better in snow than ice studs (the clue really is in the name)
now ill bet we get more ice before summer BUT i dont think it will be the solid frozen water ice that ice studs work best on.
When i get back to the uk i will be removing my ice studs from my commuting bike.
Apparently it snows on Easter Day more regularly than Christmas Day.
No idea if it will this year, though.
My ice tyres came off two weeks ago.
Even if it snows - and there was a dusting on the local hill at the weekend - it's not going to do the ice-rink generating thaw/freeze thing, so "normal" tyres will be fine.
Surely mud tyres are summer tyres?
I have just purchased a rear wheel drive car. So yes, it will.
Yes, yes it will.
Possibly this afternoon again in Burnley.
Snowed on the tops all day on Sunday.
Is it going to snow again before summer ?
Maybe
Surely mud tyres are summer tyres?
Especially up Wyre Forest way!! 🙂
Bloody cold enough in this office!
