If it's got fur and teeth then it's probably a bear with you.
that would depend on context if you wish people to show forbearance then it is "bear with me " if you wish a young lady to simultaneously disrobe it is "bare with me `'
Bear = carry, support.
Therefore, Bear with me.

Start by inserting Tab A in to Slot B.
If you're in a tent in Norway it's "bear".
And while we're at it, it's;
"I rode [b]past[/b] it"
or
"I [b]passed[/b] it on the left"
Definately bear. Though there's 2 competing reasons why it might be- some will say like Moses there that it's from the same meaning as "load bearing", ie, "support me". But others will say it's from nautical bearings, ie, "bear with me- stay with me/follow my course"
Not that it matters really, it is not bare.
The one that drives me disproportionately up the bloody wall is tact/tack. "Let's take a different tact". Ironically, usually said by tactless people. It's so pervasive and it's absolute gibberish.
