I fancy some of the above for my commute, but can't work out how to download via WiFi and listen off line.

Is there a way to not kill my data?

Ta muchly

I do it all the time. It's downloadable or streamable via the iPlayer radio app, and usually time limited to 30 days from broadcast. It won't usually work if you're using a VPN, I switch mine off while downloading. It's usually about 1Mb per minute so the odd episode won't cane your allowance too much if you have to do it while out and about.

What if it sends you to sleep and you crash your car / bike or miss your stop!

cheers Johnners, the radio player app worked a treat - listened to the first four episodes of the the Bond one today - really enjoyed it!
