In HB house we have a fair stockpile of Embers merino products. Compared with stuff (nearly used another word beginning with S) from Lidl, PlanetX and others Embers lasts, washes well and is simply epic. Surely someone must be still commissioning the epic factories and quality that underpinned this underrated brand? My patience with SportsPursuit in exploring this is running thin as a few purchases have been underwhelming. Help this sweaty northerner find quality merino!

Price point? - I've got some from Mons Royale, Patagonia and Rapha and that's all pretty good. There's some on sale on the Rapha site I think

I've no experience of it but this stuff has been recommended before and looks pretty decent

The dhb stuff strikes me as very decent and decently priced but is definitely base layer cut. Have been using on one stuff from near ten years ago for casual use but it's getting near it's end now. Would be useful to find something to replace that.

Icebreaker have lost their shit when it comes to sizing. I'm 5-10 and ~73kg, bought a medium 200 base, and had to give it to my gf's boy. If was like an XL!

+1 for DHB (or Fohn, the other Wiggle in-house brand who do similar stuff). Very reasonably priced 100% wool and from non-mulesed sheep. Just bought one of their 200 weight baselayers and the quality is great. Nice fit, range of sleeve/zip/weight/colour combinations.

If anyone can recommend a casual fit t-shirt for reasonable money, I'm all ears. I bought one from Aldi years ago and it's a great second layer, but getting a bit tatty now.

Wool should make a comeback big time as all those plastic clothing we have are either bad for health or environment.

I’m surprised - The Isobaa top I got from them is one of my most worn items, best quality Merino I have (Supernatural, Icebreaker, Patagonia, Endura being the competition)

You are inhaling them too without even knowing.

Or wash it (plastic microfibres end up in the rivers, seas and oceans)

Howies Lasts for ages
Mobs royale also good but more expensive
Tried finisterre but shrank too much on washing - isobaa ok but not as good as howies.
