Recommend moi an MP3 player and speakers/dock/stereo that I can use at home. Must also be able to connect in the car somehow. Most of my music is Itunes downloaded (yes, I now know not too..), I can get it convereted/unlocked via apple, so I guess I am looking for a good reason not to go ipod...

Budget is £250 tops....

Y'know there's nothing really wrong with an ipod and itunes...really stop feeling bad about it.

There's loads of small hifi's around, pretty much all the best ones are designed specifically for the iPod, having docks built in, but with an aux in for other flavours of mp3. The B&W Zeppelin is generally considered to be the best around, but they also do a smaller cheaper version which is also very highly regarded. Denon, IIRC, do a stunning little micro-hifi with iPod dock, and Sony also do some, generally they're around the £3-400 mark.
[edit] Here's a whole load of reviews of different iPod stereos that ought to fit the bill.

I am very pleased with my FatMan iTube. A different version of it is included in the review above.

Have you got a stereo in the house with a radio tuner ?
Then have you though about an itrip. Will let you use your ipod anywhere you've got a radio (home, car, hotel, work, some one elses car etc).
