anyone any opinions on them ,tips etc
I have one. It plays music and is easy to use. nowt special though.
currys are giving you a £25 itunes voucher with them just now.
Em! they're good, but hold less than the other ones, tips? don't put it in the washing machine or drop it from a great height 🙂
what is this 2g ,3g
it's a connect to wifi g...
was looking at these yesterday, why do the 2nd gen ones appear to be more expensive??
Brilliant, I got one to reaplace a Nano that ended up in the washing machine and I'm really impressed. 8gb isn't enough space if you want loads of music and other stuff but if you;re happy to be selective about what you load it'll be fine.
The wireless browser is handy for me if I just want to look at things quickly at home or when the computer is being used and you might find one or two fun free games in the app store.
It's only 3G if it's got a SIM card in, when it's called an iPhone...
FWIW, my phone is a 16Gb one, and at 320Kb bitrate it holds around 1100 songs, along with a whole load of apps and ebooks. As a discrete player I'd prefer just an iPod, like 160Gb, 'cos my old 80Gb is practically full, and there's plenty more to add. It's a difficult call, really, the Touch is good for lots of stuff that a regular 'Pod can't do, like web browsing and downloading directly from iTunes, (with wifi), for gaming, as an ebook reader...
but it's a little restricted on space, unless you go up to the 32Gb. Personally, my iPhone is the most useful, adaptable piece of electronic whizzyness I've ever used, and once you start to investigate it, you'll probably love the Touch just because of it's versatility.
I got my daugther one for her birthday and she loves it. The only down side is the battery life is not great.
IIRC the offer at curry's is a £15 I tunes voucher and a free mains charger
v.good.. hours of mindless entertainment. Oh it plays music 🙂

FAIL 😉
For the iPod Touch, the 2g and 3g refers to what generation of touch it is. The later generations have more bells and whistles but I couldn't tell you what they are.
I had trouble with the battery life to begin with but set the thing to lock after a couple of minutes which then dims the screen when playing music and it's been fine. I reckon I get about 4 hours on a full charge streaming music through bbc iplayer on wifi. Playing music off the ipod gives a significantly longer run time.
I had an 1g 8gb touch and it was brilliant, it just didn't store enough music, I now have a 64gb 3g and i wouldn't go back to using a normal ipod - pretty much because i am addicted to canabalt
Can't comment on the iPod touch side of things as I don't have one, but if you have a decent stack of music, 8Gb probably isn't enough.
I've got an 8gb Nano (as a gift) and I filled it before I'd got my whole CD collection on, and now there's no room for pics, videos, podcasts of anything else.
Keep thinking I should get a Classic to stick all my music on & then use the Nano when sat on the Turbo Trainer etc.
Chances are you'll need more memory than you think.

The 3rd gen gets a faster processor & more storage. My 1st gen is quite sluggish in comparison & full.
I've got a 1st gen 8gb touch that I no longer use if anyone's interested . . . . . .
£90 posted including all cables and a rubber sheath 😳
