My wife has an iphone*

She also has a windows laptop - it's a new laptop that replaced her old windows laptop

Seems that when she set up itunes on the new one and then connected her phone to it, it synced over all her music that was purchased via itunes but has deleted all her ripped cd music from the phone.

This, clearly, is my fault and so I have to fix it

I've copied the music folder from the old laptop to the corresponding one in the new machine and have added them to the itunes library (I beilieve) but apparently that hasn't worked and the phone still can't see them - she says it gave an error message (didn't remember what) on first connecting

Anyone got any ideas ?

*(Yes, yes, it's drag & drop on android - I know 🙁 )

Sync original ripped iTunes account via the icloud? You may have to doiwnload the ripped tracks. Use Google music?

Ah, thanks for the reply

icloud - will she already have that as part of itunes or is it extra ?

I don't understand how the pc itunes, which now has all the songs in its folder & library, can't pass them on direct 🙁
