I have a couple of legacy printers on a print server connected to my wifi home network. I now want to print from my iPad. All the legacy kit is pre the i revolution so air bollx won't work.
Ok, so how do I print a web page from Safari for example?
In my experience the answer to your question is -
You don't / can't
Do you have a mac on the network ? If so you can download AirPrint activator. This will let you print from the iPad/iPhone
There are several apps that let you connect to a network printer.
No macs, everything else of based. Eeeer, thanks Ben, what are they please?
The one I used was called PrintCentral ๐
Thanks gents.
@simong. Don't really want to buy yet another print server even an i flavour one
@cougar. That's back to the o,d days using a PC as a print server. Really want something on th iPad that can work with the existing print server.
@ben. I'll take peek at that and see what it's all abaat ta.
What printers are they? Epson have their own dedicated app to print from.
One HP laser and a Canon bubble jet thingy. Neither wifi.
Picsel Smart Office 2 can print to most printers without requiring AirPrint or anything fancy.
(Doesn't help you for printing from Safari though obviously)

What existing print server?
Not immediately seeing a way of doing it directly without additional hardware, TBH. I'm no iPad expert though.
It's an ancient Lynksys Etherfast 10/100.
