Right looks like I'm looking for a moon on a stick...

Ordered a 2018 iPad with pencil. Looking for a case that will safely hold the pencil, is lightweight but that the cover is held securely in place. I will carry it around traveling a lot, so the magnetic cases worry me about them coming undone, and a lot of the ones with, for example, an elastic loop over the flap, just have a really simple loop for the pencil on the edge that looks like you will quickly loose a £90 accessory!

Anyone spotted anything I haven't? At the moment the Targus Versavu might be an option but don't know if I need the 90 degree rotation.

Check out the Griffin SAS style case. Drop it and you’ll soon find out that they are worth the £30 odd you can pick them up for.

hth 🙂

You don't like the Apple leather sleeve cases?  Only 129 quid. But it does have a place for your pencil.

Amazon sell Khomo cases which hold pencils. Mrs BD and I both have one. Works fine with the Smart Keyboard and has decent sized rubber buffers on three sides.

Only problem is that both our iPads look identical from the Smart Keyboard side but we haven’t got them mixed up yet.

Cases come in a range of fake leather finishes and a couple of fabric ones too.

ive only just got mine after I lost my Apple Pencil in its nice little (but easily mislayable) pencil case!

Looking at Mrs M’s iPad, her Griffin survivor case looks like it has a clip for the pencil

I have a Moco case for my iPad Pro (hard back shell and magnet 3 leaf folding front). It’s 2 years old and looks great still so I definitely recommend that.

As as far as pencils go - the sleeve I have (IIRC also by same brand moco, although it has no markings on it and I don’t remember) is totally fine. I don’t think it would ever slip off the case and the pencil will never fall out of the case (mine has a fold over bit with a popper to keep the pen secure). Having said that, I don’t use the pencil much and it’s kind of annoying that the case won’t fold flat with the pencil holder attached. So I mostly don’t carry that. But they’re both well made items that have proved great value so far.

I thing the Kromo one works really well - the pencil holder works well and will also hold the cap when you’re charging so you don’t lose it. but the construction isn’t very good - the cover on mine started pealing apart at the edges after very little use. Still functional but scruffy.

Hummmm....there is potential for promotion before the end of the year, and Italian leather is lovely...but even how good those Nicola Meyer ones look, I think that is a stretch too far 😁

Thanks for the suggestions. Will look at in detail.
