I know this has been done before but desperately trying to get an iPad for my brother's 40th birthday - between us all (me, our other brother and his close friends we have managed to get together £360 (and that is with me pushing everyone for as much as they could give).
So - has anyone seen any deals in the last few days (from reputable places) at that price? Looked on the Apple Refurb store and they are £339 there but out of stock. Ebuyer HAD some at £360 but hey have all gone. I have tried HotUKDeals, Pricerunner etc and not found anything.
So - can anyone point me anywhere????

I would just wait. The Apple refurb stock is refreshed every day. Just check it every so often & make sure you get in first!
Ahh right I thought that may be the case - I looked last night and again just now. I shall keep a window open.
I'd just give him the money for one for now, in a couple of months he'll then be able to get an iPad 3 or a heavily discounted 2. That's what I've done for my brother anyhow - OK not as exciting as unwrapping a shiny iPad 2 but it's going to look a bit dated once the 3 is out as their are quite a few changes.
I had thought about that but he really wouldn't care - he isn't a Mac addict or anything and would be quite happy with a 2.

No - we are going to see my wife's brother in LA for his 40th at the end of this year.
This one is for MY brother's 40th which is on Saturday!
Want to get him something nice 'cos he lives alone and our mum died in the middle of last year so the only present he will get is this one thing - so we wanted it to be a nice surprise.
I might just end up stumping up the rest myself even though I can't really afford it.

Granted it is eBay but they have a good feedback score. Not sure on the history of the products but could be worth considering.

You did - I kept going back and back to it yesterday and none came in and had been at a meeting all morning today so didn't think my luck would be in but there you go!

Nice one. I have got some cracking bargains off the refurb site in the past. Always worth being patient if you've got the time as everything shows up on there sooner or later.
Yeah - thing is we didn't have the time because his birthday is on Saturday and it only became apparent we could *just about* stretch to one this week when everyone coughed up their little bit towards it (we were originally just going to get a voucher to spend with them and he would have had to put the rest in).
