Ipswich police are launching a scheme whereby unclaimed (recovered) stolen bikes are to be given to repeat offenders (presumably bike thieves) to "stop them reoffending".
They really believe this will help cut crime.
Do they really believe it will help or is it simply a case of getting warehouse space back?

Idiots. I spent 10yrs in the Police and this sort of nonsense just costs a load of money to run, with almost nothing to show for it in the end.
Maybe they should eBay them and use to money to pay for police operations to catch bike thieves?
