I liked it. Not the greatest war movie ever, but decent entertainment.

Just found MGM HD have a free weekend - Thelma & Louise on at the mo.

One of my all time faves at 12:50 - Thunderbolt & Lightfoot

Meh.......

I think it's because it wasn't what I was expecting (thought it would all be about Brad Pitt's boys reigning terror...), rather than it being a rubbish film per se?

I've seen better, I've seen worse....

It is a most excellent film.

You need therapy.

Or a subscription to film4.

You choose.

I thought it was fantastic. Far superior to some of the crap that's churned out these days. Why does every new film have to be a 12! I miss 18s!
-for the record i know the answer..

It's a bit poor, which is no surprise to be honest, given it's a Tarantino thing and he lost the ability to do anything halfway close to not embarrassing years ago.

The scene in the underground bar was superb.

Ace film! Shamelessly entertaining, rather than trying to be all high brow, but also very thought provoking too... You know the story is fiction, but it's based around a subject that was all too real!

Watched it last night as it happens. I enjoyed it. Perhaps could have been better, but overall good stuff.

Great film.

So is Thunderbird and Lightfoot, but I have to stop it just before the end or it makes me cry.

I wasn't impressed, watched it all the way through but still feel cheated for buying it on Blu Ray.

Personally I think it's a lousy film.

I was really looking forward to watching it, despite not being a Tarantino fan...but was so disgusted after half an hour that I turned it off and went to the gym instead.

IMO has two good scenes and the rest is the usual Tarantino twaddle.

Amazingly my mates son who has lived in the States for the last 10 years thought it was historically accurate 😯

Glad I'm not the only one who thought it was overrated.

Bored stiff by the end

I thought it was excellent.

Loved the whole "Zionism in film" theme being built up to a quite literal finale.

As in; America gets involved, wins war, are hero's. Cue medal ceremonies and crying soldiers, fade to sunrise over new york with the words "United States of America, home of the brave and free" scrolling in the foreground. The End.

I loved the film, the quality of the acting is great, the cinema scene is excellent but the end scene still makes me go "eeeee!"

Shosanna is easy on the eye too.

Fantastic film, great attention to detail to work with the plot and as per norm with Tarantino tributes to many other films and in the case Spaghettie Westerns. Those I found who don't like it were expecting a gun ho style War film.

I was actually surprised by how good the original is - very Spaghetti Western-ey, and like Drac said, when you watch it you can see why Tarantino chose to remake it.

Christoph Waltz is excellent in the remake though, and Diane Kruger FTW 🙂

Fair to say the Guardian bloke didn't like it when it came out:

"Quentin Tarantino's cod-second world war adventure is a transcendentally disappointing dud, in which Brad Pitt delivers his most charmless performance to date...
..
how exasperatingly awful and transcendentally disappointing it is: a colossal, complacent, long-winded dud, a gigantic two-and-a-half-hour anti-climax, like a Quentin Tarantino film in form and mannerism but with the crucial element of genius mysteriously amputated."

1/5

Bit harsh I'd say!

I liked it but thought Kill Bill was crap....horses for courses.

Reservoir Dogs was great.
Pulp Fiction was great.

In terms of revenge films, I prefer Dead Mans Shoes. Now THAT, is hilariously dark.

Inglorious Basterds was good though.
