UK24 was started by the Tub of Newcastleton. He appeared to be the local nutcase but I was wondering if the tub has official duties, etc.
There were lots of signs in the village saying stuff like, "Vote Haggis McTavish for Tub".

Lots of the towns and villages in the Borders and D&G have common riding ceremonies and series of events each year where they have loads of activities under the banner of inspecting the parish boundaries on horseback. The Tub will be the person that leads the inspection of the boundaries.

Real good excuse for a fortnight long piss up come riot.
