Been with current insurer for a number of years,for contents & building i was paying £550 per year,had to claim in april due to water leak,damage to carpet and walls,insurers sent a company to carry out plaster work,the completed job was in a nut shell was crap,i complained to my insurer and they then told me there was nothing they could do about it,i then engaged an independent inspector who said the work was unsatisfactory and needed putting right,since then my insurance was up for renewal in october,my premium as gone to £770,i have waited for 6 weeks for the reason my premium as increased only to be told it is my postcode that increased my premium,got my next door neighbour to get a quote with my company, he as had a quote for £230!!! what action can i take?????

I have got my insurance cheaper with another company,my point is can they force you to seek other cover legally.
join quidco and get cashback on a new deal, we saved heaps this year.
As for your complaint I would contact CAB or Insurance onbudsmun (spelling??) they maybe able to advise the best course of action
