Would have only been a 0.5sec win without Ogier's jump start penalty on the final stage. Was back and forth between the 2 of them for the 3 days. Shame Evans made a mistake ro it could have been a 3 way battle.
Loeb's co-driver will have a good story to tell when she goes back to her day job as a teacher tomorrow. First win for a woman co-driver in about 25 years I think.

^Agree. The two Frenchman were a class apart. Vive le revolution!

Also a fantastic achievement for Isabelle Galmiche. I wish I had a Maths teacher like that.😎

All the more impressive coming immediately after taking 2nd at the Dakar.

Loeb is and always was phenomenal, but him rocking up at 47 years old, and running at the front with Ogier, and nobody really capable of challenging shows how far the WRC has slipped. It is a shadow of its former self.
70’s 80’s 90’s and early 2000’s it was brilliant with proper battles and competition, and a real spectacle to watch (and hear). Now it just leaves me a bit meh, and this is from someone that followed rallying (not just WRC) all over the uk and Europe.

Watched the highlights on YouTube last night, mightily impressive. Going to be fun watching how he does over the whole season and whether he tires at some point.

He's not doing the whole season. Possibly not doing any more at all.

What can you say; hasn't been in a rally car for a while, hasn't won a WRC event since 2018 - and has only just come back from 2 weeks in the Dakar, were he finished 2nd.

Turns up with minimal seat time in a new car, and is on the pace right away, on the trickiest event of the season.
And the celebrates his win with a trademark backflip - I mean he's only 47.....

And I'm inclined to agree with Oldschool regarding the current era rallying; no matter how much people big it up, it's just doesn't have the same vibe anymore. Only 3 manufacturers can be bothered, most of the action behind a paywall, and events a pale shadow of their former selves.
Considering how good Red Bull are with the MTB World Cup, they've been a disappointment with the WRC stuff.
