I shouldn't be, it's my birthday and all.
But Reading fluffed the play-offs last night and now Sir Steve Coppell has resigned. Probably the right thing for both parties, but unless we react decisively I predict another 20 years at least in the footballing wilderness.
Unfortunately, decisive and optimistic action is not our style.
I'm sad.
I hope Sir Steve takes time out and reflects and comes back to manage a Premier club. Football needs men like him.
