They look good but every time I’ve been to the ikea store and had a look, all the display kit has been ****ed and not exactly a good advert.

The Ikea bulbs and sockets now work with other systems. E.g. I've got them working with a Philips Hue system.
The bulbs and sockets are cheaper than the Hue ones. The bulbs aren't quite as good as the Hue ones, the only have about 4 degrees of brightness/whiteness.

There's a 3rd party app called Hue Essentials which is needed and you connect to the IKEA stuff using Touchlink. You don't need the IKEA hub as well as the Hue one.

Depends what you want to achieve?

We have an ikea hub & bulbs, they work really well
Controlled by Alexa or phone

But then I got a Google mini and tried to synch that as well & now Alexa keeps losing them.

So I'd say pretty good, but don't mix & match your smart speakers !
