We had Advanced Hero Quest when I was, erm, in my 20s. We invented a load of additional rules for it. Great little game.
There was a Kickstarter to do an anniversary edition recently, but they didn't actually have permission to do it (and lied about what they had) so the wheels kinda came off a bit.
am currently playing Warhammer Quest on my iphone and its great. Very simple and yet oh soooo hard.
very recommended
the only annoying thing is the extra money they ask for the "good" characters and stuff
