To another bank does my balance move to the new bank too or will it just be my direct debit info that moves?

As far as I know they just move the DD's. Unless you transfer the balance, it will stay where it is.

You can transfer both, Halifax didn't bother transferring any of my DD and I ended up getting lots of charges because of it. 👿

Just so's you know the bank actually can't move the DDs, what they do is electronically instruct the DD originator to collect from the new source. But as not all originators even bother to read these things never mind act on them there's always a good chance that some DDs won't transfer.

When I changed current accounts the dd transfer thing was more effort than it was worth. Next time I will just do everything manually so I know where I stand.
