Is anyone else having problems with cramp in the night?

I started the diet 2 weeks ago and for the last few nights I have been waking up with rettible cramp.

I am trying to drink plenty, but I wondered if it was the result of too much salt or lacking another mineral that's causing the problem

No cramp for me.

Was ill this week in a vague kind of way which has made things difficult. Biggest issue for me is getting enough carbs in to ride. I don't seem capable of eating enough beans/pulses so I have to manage the carbs I take around riding... insufficient carbs seems to have negative effects but cramp isn't one of them.

Btw, seems like my weight loss is proportionally much more from the middle which is making my figure improve much more than my overall weight loss would suggest. Ace.

No cramps for me either. I have lost 3kg in 2 weeks!

I think I possibly drink too much water. I have suffered pretty badly with shakes after a 2 hrs ride after not getting enough carbs.

Yah, more carbs before, during and immediately after rides.

I commuted in 4 days last week and by the end I was really exhausted. I had enough carbs I think but I was just deeply tired in my legs and going slowly, despite feeling ok in myself.

it's not a low carb diet. So why would anyone not be getting enough carbs?

suffering big dehyrdration here if i drink less than 4 pints of water a day and i'm seriously short of zip by the end of my 10 mile homeward commute, but no cramp.

btw, had mashed parsnip last night was that naughty or allowed?

So why would anyone not be getting enough carbs?

The problem I am having is that whilst I am allowed to eat all the legumes I want I simply can't physically down them after a certain point. I dunno why. I start gagging - seriously.. despite enjoying the meal up til that point.

Refried beans are one of my fave things but any more than half a tin and I just stop.

Could be psychological, I am drinking a lot more now because my brain is seeking sweet drinks and the water's not satisfying it. How's your pee?

also in time even if you're not eating as many carbs as previously, you'll become more efficient at burning fat as fuel

iDave could you (or anyone else) point me in the direction of the outlines of this diet? I keep seeing it mentioned on here but never saw the original 'rules'... From what I can gather it sounds similar to how I eat at the moment (high protein, low GI). Just out of interest really 🙂

Would really love a copy of this diet please iDave, could I please get a copy sent to bruceDOTmoneyATgmailDOTcom. I have e-mailed you in the passed but maybe its going straight to your spam?

Would love some decent advice on a long term eating strategy and this diet seems to fit the bill.
