I wonder how that phonecall to the insurance company goes. Still, good thing he didn't clip that 250lm, better a 50million pound crash than 70.

Heeling and toeing when he should have been engine braking.

I guess he'll have to sell a few more JCB's to help pay for the damage.

In my experience (having marshalled at Le Mans and in particular Le Mans Classic) and opinion it'll be a non-issue for the owner. Attending, and doing well in, events like Goodwood or Le Mans Classic adds a lot to the desirability of the car, and that's one reason they'll let others drive it. It's a shame, but there's a reasonable chance that most of that grid will have been restored more than that impact will need, so I really don't think anyone will mind. You can afford that car you are well beyond caring that it'll take a month or two of labour charge to put it right.

Left foot braking, that's the answer.

What was going on with the steering wheel? Just before he set off back towards the [s]absolutely massive bollocking from the owner[/s] pits, he shoved it back straight. Is that a thing in old super cars? He can't have bent it that easily.

You can see it bend upon the rearward impact on the on car footage. Did look like it was made of cheese, but pre airbags, very strong steering wheels were not particularly clever an idea...

As above most, if not all of those cars, won't have an original body panel left. I watched Shmee's vid from there when he went around in Lord March's Ferrari driven by Francitti, the whole body had been redone

I watched a D-Type race at Silverstone once and one of them hit the Armco with both ends. Bloke in the row in front rubbed his hands and said to his mate "I do all the bodywork for that one".

So it's a fake kit car then 😆
