I get work through emails on a first to respond gets it. So I’m half way through an 80 mile ride and I’ve opened an email but the top bar now just says mailboxes but the option to go back to the inbox, compose an email etc has vanished.....help!!!

Double tap home, swipe up to close the mail app. Try again, sometimes things go wrong.
