Strange how two of the phones on the account have developed the fault at the same time!! Also seems to be ok sometimes then not work at others. Anyone else??
Mine and come to think of it the missis'ess has been doing that. Need 2 or 3 presses to teturn to the home screen

Same here - happened a couple of updates ago to mine.
Sometimes works no problems, other times i have to press the side of the button. There is an on screen home button if it's totally knackered.
I'm sure there's a fix, I just haven't got round to it yet.

apparently you can plug the charger in and gently bend up the dock adapter? Don't blame me if this breaks your phone though.
Mines fine (in a lifeproof case). However what really annoys me is if my phone is in my pocket and if bend down Siri always asks me if I want any help! And if I turn Siri off he (or she?) is replaced with some other voice thingy on the home button. Annoying.
