[Closed] I need your help - playlist on the theme of "heroes"

Not that I'm competitive, but I need to produce a list of 8 songs with the theme of "heroes" to vanquish my workmates.

I've got all the obvious tracks with "hero" in the title, but it's a bit shite.

Any suggestions for something a bit less literal? Songs about heroic characters?

So far the only thing I can come up with is "Joan of Arc" by Lenny Cohen...

I can't actually think of any examples but folk music likes to mine heroic tales.

Actually, isn't Bob Dylan's 'Knockin' on Heavens Door' about Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid?

Similarly, 'Davey Crockett, king of the wild frontier'...

Hurricane is another Dylan one.

Joe Hill if you want a hero / sticking it to the man song.

Loads have sung it - Luke Kelly's version is good.

(who did john wayne is big leggy ?)

Come on, everyone knows it was Haysi Fantayzee. Possibly the s***test 'band' in the entire world. Well, maybe second only to Milli Vanilli, but then they had their own special category of terribleness.

Right, try again. All my posts haven't worked so far...

Anyone mentioned The Jam's version of the Batman theme?

anything by Radioactive Man
Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy - Television

You might already have some of these:
Scott Walker - Hero of the War
Swervedriver - Kill the Superheroes
Chemical Brothers - Who Hero

and my personal fave
