I'm lucky to have worked with a fabulous chap who found me a pair of antlers whilst out walking. (They weren't attached to a deer at the time). I'd like to have them mounted on a simple wooden plaque. Anyone on here capable of doing such a thing or know anyone who is? Ta muchly.

It might look cool but you’ll fail an MOT

I used another pair of antlers which were already mounted to draw around and create a template on a piece of thick ply. Routered the edges (you could just sand them) and painted with black paint. You can screw through it into the thicker parts of the skull from behind to mount them.

They, and a couple of other pairs, now adorn the summer house and look lovely with a bit of moss and some clematis growing over them

After trying to be clever and make them easily detachable (for painting by using zippy clips and wire etc ) I gave up and just drilled two holes (start small and widening stages) and screwed them on direct.

For some strange reason one of our local squirrels has nearly gnawed through the 1/2 set that I nailed to the tree to hang bird feeders on.

Surely for a motorbike or racing car rather a mountain bike...

I have done this.

I chose a nice piece of oak from my firewood pile and cut a segment approx 25 cm wide, to match the size of the deer's head. I have left the bark on, stabilised with PVA and then waxed. Holes for the antler stubs bored into the wood and then attached from behind using long, coarse screws and epoxy. The whole ensemble then mounted onto a nice backboard.

No pics I'm afraid, it's now in my place of work and who knows when I might be back there.
