As for the first, I am wondering about the Mercedes A-Class. If I was looking at a 2000-2001 model, would it be any good? My almost-exclusive concern would be reliability.
If not the A-class, what else would you suggest? I am looking to spend as little as possible. No more than, say £1200-ish.
As for the second, anything up to £400-ish. It just has to be able to stand up to a lot of city miles with corresponding need to brake in constantly soggy weather.
