chips here in germany are shit. i picked up a copy of ST a few months back and there was a page where chips were shown. that had me gagging for chips.

all you get here is "fries". shitty little stick chips that are either full of grease or air.

i'm not allowed to cook chips here because it stinks the house out and the others wouldn't be happy with me storing a pan full of solid fat.

Yeah but they're probably cheaper there than here. With the devaluation of the pound against the Euro the average price of a portion of chips in the UK works out something in the region of £7.80 😉
