Discovery 4 3.0 V6 for 3 days. Bonus as I was supposed to get a focus, but all they had left at thrifty was this.

Nice!

I am really surprised at how fast they can propel 2.5 tonnes of metal!

Grunty - They are flipping powerful. Same engine as the Jag XF 3.0 diesel - bi-turbo with 270bhp and 445lbs-ft. My BM is similar (bit more bhp at 286, bit less torque at 428) and does 0-60 in 5.7s and goes to 160ish - yes it weighs a fair bit less but still shows what that sort of motor can do!

Enjoy - they are cracking machines.

it has gone back to the car hire place.

Was great to drive, but I couldn't afford to drive one, not with my driving style anyway!

92litres of diesel to do 380 miles!

Whenever I see a post relating to a vehicle or fighting I always make a point to look to see if Surf-Matt has posted.

Yep, he has managed to talk about his diesel again.

Man, I love his posts.

Thrifty did this to me as well, when they were changing over between one registration year/period & another for the number-plates. Was amusing, at the least!
Luckily it wasn't me paying for the fuel either 😆

New car policy's just been launched at work. Was thinking of going for a diesel 3 Series estate, however discounted it and going for the trail centre middle class cliche; A4 Avant. Looks like it's got more poke than it's German counterpart, and the SLine should be a sportier drive.

If you have a Disco you have to take at least one body deep into the woods.

It's an old law, or charter or something.

Brycey - not sure where you are looking but an A4 has worse handling than a 3 series, the S-line kit is just expensive chavving, and every equivalent A4 has less poke than its 3 series rival. Better luck next time.

😀

Only pulling your leg Matt, sorry. Actually going for the opposite as I have a 160g CO2 limit and the 3 Series has lot more bang-for-your-emission. 330D is within where as 2.7 and 3.0 Audi's aren't.

Just waiting for a photo of the Ford Ranger Throbbing Dominator pickup to be posted. 😆

Kona - chromed up pick ups are for repressed gays....

Oxnop - it has a VERY similar engine to my car. So just like you'd jump in if someone posted about a similar bike, I did the same for this. Sorry if it pains you so much...
