This guy's my direct neighbour and has been for the last few years. I can't comprehend what goes on in his pathetic head, but all I can say is that he is a C**T of the highest order! C**T! 👿

By the way, it was myself asking for advice on this issue in this closed thread under another username. Just to confirm to the cries of "troll" that this was a genuine matter and I was sincerely after some advice.

downloaded 5000 images by accident. I can't even imagine what goes on in his head. It seems like a few owe you an apology.

OK, I can understand anger, but surely it must feel hugely satisfying if this guy gets done as a result of your actions?

If your neighbour is infact the pervert that he appears to be, lets hope he has any kind of unfortunate fatal accident.

If there was actually any kind of god(which i'm certain there isn't), then a just punishment would be meted out. Don't hold you breath you mumbo jumbo believers!

I'm sure a few liberal minded types will jump to his defense. He'll probably get a grant for something and/or compensation for having his feelings hurt.

So come on you wet liberals, tell me i'm being intolerant!

I dn't apologise for calling you a troll - your post was full of inconsistencies, posted under a new username and discussing info you'd been asked to keep quiet. My opinion would be the same again. I'm sorry I wasn't right though, glad they've found him.

Why take the piss on a serious thread ?

"right now, he's still living there."

Yeah, I guess that would do my head in - if he was my neighbour.

Was speaking to my GF's bro who's a Prosecutory Fiscal in Edinburgh. He didn't know of this specific case but reckons he wouldn't go to jail. You might be closer to the truth, ernie.

Yep, I'll back jimmy on that.

I found out last year that a guy I'd worked with at a school in Batley had done the same. I used to drive him home every other day. He was a mate; camp as Christmas, but funny and good conversation. He moved on to another school, and I heard no more from him. Then I heard a rumour that he'd been sacked for gross misconduct, but again, no more. I moved back down south and that was it.

Then in Jan, an ex work colleague sent me a link

http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/news/Leeds-teacher-kept-3000-child.5721320.jp

Made me feel sick. I thought I was a good judge of character. We'd even talked at length about a cover up that had happened at the school of a relationship between a pupil and a member of staff. He seemed disgusted.

Just goes to show really.

I agree with coffeeking, I do not feel the need to apologise and I would come to the same result if a similar thing happened again.

No, but as he has come out and said it was him anyway he shoudl ahve either a) not asked opinions on a public forum if asked to keep things hush
b) posted as himself thus adding some credability to his post from the outset.

That aside at least even if it was by accident they have stumbled across another deviant.

Well, at least the police and authorities (not to mention neighbours and associates) are now aware of this blokes, erm, hobbies, shall we say. If he doesnt get sentenced, the least that will / should happen is that he's placed on the sex offenders register, which should prevent him from taking this to even higher levels. With regards to Mark's post, the difficulty is that in certain cases, you wouldnt know whether or not the guy was a paedophile - it's a shame, but quite often, the first indication anybody gets is when something (bad) actually happens and the police, etc, have to become involved. Fingers crossed that this guy is removed to a place of safety, whether that be prison or secure hospital, etc. As far as other posters criticising people for accusing the OP of trolling, or using this thread to make snide comments about peoples religious beliefs or 'liberal' attitudes, cant you just be grateful that action's been taken against a potentially dangerous individual?

While court reporting years ago I saw a guy jailed for having far fewer images, most of which he had drawn himself (this was before the internet). He also had no record of actually molesting children.

So don't assume your man will get off lightly at all.

Don't know about the scottish system, but surely he has been charged with a crime for his name to appear in the papers, and must be on some sort of bail & having to sign on regularly with the police?

Local suspected paedo recently hanged himself after being arrested on charges of "inciting a minor to commit sexual acts", which I think refer to internet grooming. He wasn't on remand, TBH I think it is really difficult to get remanded nowadays, and that you either have to be a significant risk to the public, or a flight risk.

You are either remanded in custody or remanded on bail, pending a court case.

define "young girls"

the news story doesnt lead me to believe he will get a custodial sentence.

To be a young girl, rather than a young woman, surely they have to have been <18, which is the legal age for creating sexual images IIRC (I dont claim to know the finer details). So either way he's going to be charged with that, which I can't see being looked on lightly. Maybe if he'd been a 19 year old and she'd been 17, but not in these circumstances.

He's on bail for reports as in our system we don't lock people up until we have decided that they are a) guilty and b) should receive a custodial sentence, unless they pose a substantial risk of further offending failing to attend court or interference with witnesses.
In this case that will depend on the "level" of the images ie their content . At the lower end he is likely to receive a community sentence likely to be a supervision order (probation) with specified activities ( a course for sex offenders) plus a SOPO ( asbo for sex offenders normally precludes some access to Internet and unsupervised contact with minors ) at the higher end it's custody with courses in prison. In either case he also goes on the sex offenders register so will be reporting to and monitored by specialist police officers.
He is charged with making images on the basis of downloading and saving to a separate file . The act of saving generates a new image so the charge is making an image it does not of it's self suggest he took the actual photo.
I too thought the original OP's post was incredible . The offender must have been cracking one off when the plod came round and caught him unawares.

Interestingly, in the US, under 18s have been successfully prosecuted for taking naked or partially naked photos of themselves 🙁

You might be closer to the truth, ernie.

I have no opinion at all on what the likely outcome of this case might be. Other than the knowledge that the guy won't be getting a grant or compensation for having his feelings hurt.

I am also of the opinion that making moronic and childish comments on a thread dealing with the serious concerns someone has about an alleged paedophile neighbour, is inappropriate.
