I was in a pub ladies team (defence) doing really well until the yanks came over and it all ended in tears.
Our team had a sparkly T-shirt and leather glove.
Doubles is for softies, singles action is where it's at. I play an unmanned keeper with a roaming attack, but the league leader at our office plays a permanently manned defence and a "pinball wizard" offence. Hammer the ball upfield with enough power and eventually it will go in the goal. I;d rather lose trying to play the beatiful game, myself 🙂
