Just back from hospital with a huge grin from ear to ear. It would be even bigger if my beautiful new daughter and her mother were here to but I am hoping to collect them 1st thing tomorrow

Slightly worried that I am already shattered having got the hospital 24hrs ago and not slept yet, and jnr p isn't even here yet, but how bad can it be??

Don't worry about the pessimists, you can still ride a bike after having kids - just make sure wifey knows that Sunday mornings are sacred!

And congratulations from a father of two ๐Ÿ™‚

Check you know how to fit/remove the car seat - they won't let you leave otherwise (types from experience )

Happy times ahead (our third is 6 weeks old today)

... and more seriously, don't forget that the kid isn't either the end of your previous life, nor the entire meaning of the next. Initially she'll undoubtably be the most important thing, but you still have a job, friends, goals and what have you.

Once you get over the first month or so you will be able to go out on your bike, meet up with mates for a beer or two, etc. etc. Less than previously, and forget disappearing all day without prior warning, but you can still do it. So when you haven't slept properly for ages, you feel like killing the little s**t: there's a light at the end of the tunnel!

You WILL learn how to sleep through the middle of the night tears, just make sure other half goes natural and does not use a bottle!

Oh and will have lots of time to go biking!

It was actually on the due date too, which is only about 5% of babies

Yeti Guy, I do have a newish bike but those who I met over xmas will agree it is not worth taking photos to post on here

Car seat fitted last week in preparation. No idea how my daughter works but car seat sorted!

When does the terms "Dad" and "my daughter" sink in/get boring?

When does the terms "Dad" and "my daughter" sink in/get boring?

my eldest daughter is 9 and i'm still so proud of her. everyday she amazes me with how clever she is, my son is 4 and he's so much fun i love listening to him play as he's so imaginative. my youngest is 7 months and she is growing up too fast.

so i reckon you'll never get bored of it.

don't listen to that sort of bollocks - just make sure you do whatever is right for your family. Congrats though - it really is wonderful ( dad to twin girls, 7 months old ๐Ÿ™‚ )
