[Closed] How to wipe data off a broken phone

I've got a broken android LG G4 phone. It has no battery physically in it. It broke with the known boot loop issue and then wouldn't power on at all.
I'd like to get it recycled, but only if I can wipe my data off it.
Is there any way to do this or do I need to destroy the motherboard?

I thought Android had encrypted storage? Or did I imagine that?

There's an xkcd cartoon but I can't need bothered to find it.

In all seriousness, if you're that worried just put it in a plastic bag and batter it with a hammer, then put it in a fresh plastic bag and fill it with water.
Let it sit for a few days and bobs your aunties husband.

Smosh it with a hammer. They'll never see your porn hub favourites and we won't tell. 🙂

Just throw it in the bin.

If you can't recover / remove data from it, no-one else will care sufficiently to try.

Just throw it in the bin.

Just send it for recycling rather than bin!
