it depends on how they've done it - sometimes if you view the page source you can search for the jpg file that it links to and copy that address, then you can load a page with just the pic and rightclick it.

where's the pic, i'll take a look. 🙂

the pic of the new ragley was on a site the other day that claimed you couldn't download the pic. you could.

Such as? It kind of depends how and why you can't right click how complicated it is.

+1

Though thinking about what I would do, one very obvious tool is Fiddler2 - using that you can see all the contents of your web page, and select any part to save. It works even if the image is called up using javascript (so that it doesn't show up in the source).

On a mac you can do 'print screen' on a selected area so you don't need to crop afterwards.

Not sure what 'PC' has to do with it but it's hard to imagine a legitimate purpose for needing to do this one a site that's disabled it though.

Hopefully some pro photographers will show up soon and we can have a nice scrap. 🙂

Use firefox, go to the page in question then select Tools->Page info->Media tab scroll to image in question, see the image preview and select the Save As button.

Cushtie 🙂

Just drag it from your browser onto your desktop?

(Works here in Firefox)

I know you said no screen print but that's what I'd do when not on a windows 7 machine. screen shot, paste into paint, two seconds of cropping later and you have the picture.

Right clicking seems to just work for me in Firefox. That said I do run a few plugins that may stop such daftness.

Cheers all, I have sent "theflatboy" a few links to see what he can do, did not want to post the links on here as the images "may be" copyrighted and the owner "could" be on here 😳

There is no could be they belong to the person who took them unless he has sold or given the rights to someone else.

What does PC have to do with it exactly? 😆

If it's a picture of you from a race for example and you can't easily copy it then the photographer probably doesn't want you to have it, if you like the pic that much buy it.

Yeah I think I read about this in the Daily Mail, basically it's a NuLiebour quango funded by Europe that says we can't steal pictures any more or we'll be branded racists - it's health and safety and political correctness both gone mad together!!

I'd be pretty annoyed if I found someone had been doing this to the non-right clickable pics on my website, rather than contacting me about buying/using them.

just left click and make it highlighted, then right click. very often works...

Why would I bother contacting someone if I just want to stick a nice photo as wallpaper on my PC.

If I want to use it on a website or magazine then yes, but otherwise it doesn't really matter does it!?

I think i know the website he's talking about 🙂

A lot of websites are quite crafty and either put a 1pixel spacer image in front (e.g flickr), Others generate the image url using script so the right click save as doesn't work.

I hope he doesn't want to put it on his website. Would be a pity for them to be sued for damages...

And what? You're breaking the law, you're publicly asking people to help you break the law and STW could be held accountable for allowing this thread to continue.

So you want advice on how to steal something - cool.

Can someone tell me the best way to break into next doors house - they've got a lovely 50" HD TV I would love to have.
