Hey guys,
I'm sure there must be a simple way of doing this but I'm wanting to make some videos for turbo sessions.
Basically just a plain background with a big timer on the top of the screen and being able to input words underneath during the video, (Level x, On, Off, Rest etc)
I know you can put text and stuff into video's on windows movie maker but is there a simple way of doing what I want?

The video would be saved to mpeg so I can play it back on a host of things

yeh start to finish. So for instance a 4o min workout will be 40 mins long and will show the timer ticking away on the screen and then words will come to give instryuctions at the appropriate points of the workout.

I'm just thinking it would be cool to make a few of these and the be able to just play them on the laptop or iphone or whatever without having to watch a timer and remember what i'm doing and when

Place some black of the desired length on the timeline. Use a title program to place your text and export as mpeg with Timecode visible (If your editing software has this option)

there's a command line tool caled ffmpeg that will convert lots of things between different media types. If you can create a whole series of jpeg images, numbered in sequence as you would like them, I'm happy to convert them into a video for you - just tell me the gap in seconds between each "frame".
