I've got personal travel insurance through an annual policy, but am wondering how I will be able to insure my bike for an upcoming trip to morzine in July.

It has been built up with parts off the classifieds so I dont have any receipts, but it is still worth around £1500 so I would like to to be covered incase it gets nicked or trashed.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem, my household insurance doesn't cover outside the UK, i've gone for snowcard and upped the sports equipment option

one thing i have seen is monthly cycle cover from www.eandl.co.uk which also covers abroad use. you should be able to cancel this after a month so should work well. i'm gonna give them a phone tomorrow and find out how the value a bike with no receipts and the like.

Have you spoken to your household insurance? We have M&S cover which includes cover abroad and away from the home. Worth a call even to add that cover for 2 weeks.

Try Snowcard - insured mine for £3000 for my summer alps visit, I think it cost £59.

how does this work guys?

im looking for insurance for my dh bike too..

But at what point is it not insured?

for example. when im camping and the bike is chained to another bike out side?

or i finished the run, go to the toilet and leave the bike outside type thing??

how hard is it going to become to justify when its stolen.?
