Whilst recently painting the living room I've accidently splashed paint all over the black 'real effect' fire, of course I never noticed and it's now dryed and won't come off, it's supposed to be water based but that doesn't seem to work. Anyone know of a better solvent to use before the wife get's really mad (she's just annoyed at the moment!) Cheers

I thinking if the paint has dried, some wire wool and rubbing alcohol...possibly some white spirit...??

Will it not chip off? Is it emulsion?

Those scoury washing-up pads that are foam one side, green scoury stuff on the other are best for removing splatter.
