I was watching dynamo series4 episode3 when a tune came on whilst he was talking with the band Coldplay. I recognise the song but am unable to name it, any idea how I can find out what the track is
And yes I have google it but haven't found it

Replay the episode on an 'on demand' player, then soundhound or shazam as suggested.

Shazam's your best bet, in fact they push the fact that TV programmes are using Shazam to get info out to viewers.
I've tried Soundhound, and I've never yet had it give me a result.
Shazam isn't perfect, it relies on a database, and not everything's in it. It fails on lots of music used in Canadian-based programmes, as they tend to use Canadian artists, many of whom are little known, but it's usually fast and accurate; I've used it frequently for TV music.

...and the last song was Coldplay, so doubt you're thinking of that.

I've got a list of songs from film and TV that I've never been able to identify. Is Shazam any good for underground dance music, or oddball jazz tracks from films?

Case in point: 'The Man Who Fell To Earth', yes, that film with David Bowie. It contains a few awesome tracks that infuriatingly aren't included on the soundtrack, or even mentioned... anywhere โ“
