Looks far from destroyed. There's one rotting in a field just a couple of miles away from me, now that's destroyed.

Thats quite the turd but christ when did old landrovers get so expensive? I could retire if I still had my old ones to sell, but then maybe not, I had battered them to death offroading them.

Nah it's not a Skoda.

Anyway must be gutting for them to know that landy was worth more had they left it alone.

You do wonder what they were smoking.

It is a bit odd when you get a proper reconditioned one for less money.

Reconditioned does not make it good. It usually means ruined.

Good condition. Patina'd models with originality , matching numbers and history fetch more than that.

"fun to drive"

Hacing had to nip to the garage the other day to get a diff input flange nut loosened, i took the front prop shaft off and drove wiwi the diff lock in and rear wheel drive only. Drove bloody awful!

โ€œProperโ€ reconditioned trail_rat but yes an original one in good condition will of course be better.

Iโ€™d rather have this escortย , I know of Gary Higgins bodywork so itโ€™ll be a good car

well that didnโ€™t work, it was an 1980 mk2 escort in red

On telly again at 10 tonight if you want to watch the destruction ๐Ÿ™‚

Rear axle looked to be almost touching the chassis.

Wonder what you even say when "has this vehicle been modified sir"

They also butchered a MGB in the previous episode which didnโ€™t look great. Still the โ€œslamdroverโ€ was a bit different so interested. Although I donโ€™t share a particular love for Landies.

Even more puzzling, this was on telly the other night (and "sold") yet the advert implies different.

Stoner series Landys are rear wheel only most of the time. Not perm 4wd like a Def 😀

My Dad insured his old Volvo after it had been off the road to have the hot engine he'd built for it and all the associated kit fitted.

"Who did the work?" asked the insurance company.

"I did".

"Oh I see, and are you qualified to do that sort of thing?"

"Yes I've got a City & Guilds qualification."

"Oh that'll be fine sir."

Yeah a C&G in carpentry..

I've found that using a Land Rover purely on the road and maintaining it properly is a perfectly good way to destroy them, bloody things.

I donโ€™t like it as itโ€™s a poor copy of something someone else has already done, but a lot better. Iโ€™ll find a pic hang on.

Heres a Speedhunters article about the original properly done one.ย  http://www.speedhunters.com/2016/02/not-land-rover-land-rover/

Its only ever been known as โ€œthatโ€ Land Rover.
