Anyone know how to clear out ALL Messenger history? I have deleted chats with some users, but these users still appear in the 'active' list > how can I clear it out so I don't see these users anymore? Using Messenger app on my iPhone.

Block the other party

that just means they’re online. Nothing more than that. As above you’d have to block them to get rid of them completely
It's really annoying, I've got randoms on there when I sold a couple of items on Facebook selling groups over a year ago!
If you go into 'people', then 'all contacts' it'll list everyone, contacts who aren't FB friends have a little card symbol by them, you can press that and remove them. Otherwise just delete conversations, and I think the 'active' contacts will in time update themselves to be your most frequently contacted.
