What is the registration? I'd want a pretty high-status one for that sort of wodge.

Something like PEN15 at least. 🙂

There's an old 3 series Beemer (vintage circa 80's) driven by some mad old bat in one of the villages round here, number plate is A12. Apparently it's been in the family from new.

That's a lot of dough for a number plate.
I know that P1 LOT & K1 NGS both went for over £220k if i recall but £450k is unreal.
F 1 to a racing driver perhaps?

The number place PEN15 is owned by former Grand Prix bike racer, Steve Parrish. He used to run it on an old hearse once!

When I worked at Knight Frank, in the days of it being Knight Frank and Rutley, they had a liveried London Black Cab with the number plate KFR 1.

After a rebranding in the late 90s to, imaginatively, "Knight Frank" (& Rutley deceased) they realised that their flashy cab was out of date.

One of the partners was drving one day when he realised he was following the car with the registration KF 1. So he followed him all the way home and utlimately the firm made the owner an offer they couldnt refuse.

So now, you will see a green London cab, branded with KF logos and sporting the KF 1 number plate.
