Might help to be a little more specific where were you’re Thinking of heading to; quite a few different riding spots..

Peaslake/Holmbury/Leith Hill was fine on Sunday. Obviously some mud, and my Michelin Dry tyres weren't ideal, but I have never known it to be a quagmire.

Main Paths on leith are bad, but surprisingly the trails seem ok. Pitch hill a bit boggy in places

Thanks all. Was thinking riding into peaslake via white downs and looping back via leith. Classic xc loop from leather head/dorking basically

On Sunday we cycled up from Dorking Deepdene train station, iirc we did hit a fair bit of mud before we got onto the higher ground.

Edit : The Route 22 bit.

Leith area had quite some standing water in depressions yesterday (6th). It’s not bad by any means as it’s far from being sticky mud.
Try the clag chalk/clag of the South Diwns!!! That sucks big time.
Enjoy
Good luck parking if the weathers decent.

We were digging yesterday at pitch and the surface is pretty dry... most of the usual standing water areas are clear and the new drainage is working where it's been put in.
Wider I'd avoid chalk stiff... (North of A25)
