Grandfather bought my children an Ipad for Christmas and they are getting loads of use out of it, but it does seem to have to be charged up an awful lot 🙁

I guess that I am being tight, but how much does it cost for a full charge?

Things will get better when the children go back to school, hopefully, then again, the wife may discover the joys of surfing and downloading apps and be glued to it all the time that the children are away at school and its usage will not go down, grrr! 😉

Someone will mention polar bears - so I'll start: approx one polar bear per day. That should cover it. 😉

25 watt hour battery so If they charge it every day you'll be down a penny at the end of the third day - give or take.

For the pedants - that's not taking into account charger inefficiencies but you get the drift.

£1.25 per year if charged every day. Unless your with N power. It'll cost you £125. The blood sucking bastards! 🙂

There are solar powered charges available. It might take a day or two with the weather like it is, though.

Reminds me of I guy I know who wears his coat indoors all winter. After recommending him an answering machine he came back the next day moaning about having to leave it plugged in all day. He actually switches it off when he's out to save electricity 😯

Nowt wrong with being frugal, it's the completely wasteful ignorance of the amount of energy we use that has got us in the resource-based mess we are today.

Buy a generator to charge it.
But then again how much would a generator cost to run !

I know, buy a Solar powered unit to charge it.
But how much would the Solar powered unit cost me ???????????

It came with a Three pin plug, stick it in the
frigging wall and charge the frigging thing !

Why don't you give this guy a call

Pointless thread

Sussex police want to save themselves £50M by stopping their officers charging up their mobile phones and mp3 players while at work.

(well, that's not exactly what the article says but the real one is not as interesting).
