so, just had an important debate in the office - the guy who sits next to me recons that his mate just got a new 3 piece suite (has a corner sofa), and recons 'about 40 cows' made it. So. How many cows does it take to make a sofa? I can't find anything online about the size of cowhides etc..

Anyone got any ideas?

H

Depends how good they are with their hoofs I guess. I'd imagine most struggle threading a needle.

Ewan, you're absolutely correct, they'd be hampered by the lack of opposable thumbs.
Incidentally, the lack of thumbs is why you never see pigs hitch-hiking.

If they're working a sewing machine though, the hooves would be fine for pressing the pedal, they'd just need something like a squirrel to thread the needle and load the bobbins etc.

Good idea mrsflash, squirrels are cheap to employ too, they'll work for peanuts.

I'll get my coat

From memory I think it takes about 4 hides to make all the seat covers in a car so you're probably taking 4 to 8 depending on the size of sofa. Your mate's guess of 40 is a bit way off.

Agreed. Does your mate realise that cows aren't that small ..... just far away ?

a brief search of google reveals that you only require two...you just join them together at the back and hey presto!

& that reminds me of something my mate once said while out on a ride, 'sheep are stupid, they can't even light a fire'

yeah, your mate has never seen a cow up close. They're pretty big.
