I booted the sofa leg on Saturday and lost. Meant I missed out on Sunday's sunny club run 🙁

My left little toe is slightly at an angle and very bruised so I think it might be broken. Not as sore as it was but I still can't get into a pair of shoes without it hurting - I can only walk in my Teva sandals...

I've done stuff like this before and it usually improves in a week.

What's the STW experience? <and please don't take the piss!>

You don't want to get it looked at if it's at an angle and bruised?
Probably not a good idea as that will only get it fixed quicker.
Even if all they do is tape it to the next toe I'd get my arse to a&e tomorrow.

Not sure about toes, but MrsMC bust a finger 13 months ago, and is waiting an appointment for a second operation to fix it

I broke two of mine in one go at karate a few years ago, I was walking unaided in a week and back training after two weeks. They heal pretty quickly.

Karate here as well! I think I've prob broke them all at some point.
Hospital said on the first visit, unless it's really bent just tape them.
I'd get it checked tbh.

I taped it yesterday and it's put it back where it used to be and the bruising is going down. Luckily I'm between contracts at the moment so I'm sitting around all day with my feet up, job hunting which seems to be be helping the healing/heeling process

Just tape it to the next one and monitor its improvement. Dont wrap the tape completely aroung the toe or you may compromise the circulation. Any increased pain, redness, swelling, heat, flu-like symptoms go and see someone asap!

If it's displaced it's probably worth getting checked out tbh, I regret not getting my broken knuckle set right, my hand'll always be wonky now.

Mine was a big toe, I just carried on as usual tbh, I just had to choose shoes that didn't squeeze the toe.

If it's the little toe it should be OK in a relatively short space of time.
A big toe on the other hand takes a little longer in my experience, although that could be down to the mess I made of it.
If you're not planning on kicking anything else for a while then you should be fine.
Oh and A&E will probably just tell you that it's broken and take some pain killers/strap it to the next toe.

Little toe barely more than a minor irritation although it was interesting to be able to move the toe sideways at the time

Hospital taped it to the next one went back in a month & it was fine
