We will be in touch
How late would your child stay up if you let them?
Our daughter is 5 and has never said it is time to go to bed. She just seems to go and go.
Other mates kids tell them at 7pm it is bed time or make their parents send them to bed.
I am contemplating experimenting tomorrow night to see how late she stays up.
I remember my godson standing up and saying "its bedtime, goodnight everyone" and toddling off to bed. Think he was about six at the time.
4.5yr old, and if we don't tell her she tells us it's time (bonus is that is nomally 6.30!)
That said, last week we came back from holidays and she we still a duracell bunny helping me unload the car at 10pm
I've got a few friends with kids that do that.
The other night, although it is the holidays, she managed to fly below the bedtime radar, and at around 10pm announced she was hungry. I blame the long UK summer nights throwing us out on our child rearing plans.
I will give a running commentary tomorrow night. Who falls asleep first me or her.
My (nearly 6 yo) daughter would be up to about 11 if we let her.
Unfortunately, because I work away, it seems like "we" let her stay up until at least 10 pm nearly every night.
Getting her out of bed for school, on the other hand, is a little more challenging.
MrsQ in the spirit of things, has said, that the experiment should go ahead tonight. So place your bets. She is still up beside me watching some disney nonsense.
I'm going for 12:30am.
my 5yo would stay and stay even when dead on her feet and telling us that she's tired but wouldn't take herself off or say 'I want to go to bed'
Mine would go and go and go. When the in laws baby's at 1 night. My eldest woke up saw them and stayed up until 1am when we got back. She had got out of the minute we left at 7:30!
Quarrel, if yours is anything like mine. Enjoy the next day! Ours is always a pain when she has had too little sleep...
I'm intrigued...
How late then?
I gave up at 11:30pm. The special offer at ASDA for McKewan's Champion thwarted my plans of staying awake.
My eldest has always taken herself off to sleep - even at new years parties into her late teens! It can be a challange even now to keep her awake for late evenings (she's 17).
My boys will just keep going - and the youngest gets sent to bed at 8, but rarely goes to sleep before about 10.
These boys will keep going if you let them.
Remember, next day grumpiness and latenightness are a direct 1:1 scale.
