This one in ranks right up there for me...

Got engaged to my long suffering girlfriend on thursday

submitted my PhD on Friday (after 4 years woohoo!)

Spent all weekend on the pop celebrating with loads of friends

I still feel very pleased with the world but am pretty damn hungover today.

local huntin' shootin' fishin' show cancelled, so went and watched jousting instead. super impressive horsemanship by knights in full armour. nearly ran over ex-MP tam dalzeal after his car was run into a ditch by some muppet and he nearly fell whilst climbing out. Went scuba diving and saw an octopus and a huge cod and some lobsters (marine nature reserve so no helping oneself to the food, unfortunately). got given one of these ereader thingies becasue the batetry was gubbed and it can't be replaced according to the "expert" (PMSL) in the sony shop. oh really? £15 spent on the new battery and 30 minutes with a screwdriver later, guess what?
pretty average really.

Congrats marp 🙂 Mine was ok. I was working but only 2-10pm so I still managed to go out and get hammered on Saturday night whilst being sober and awake enough for work on Sunday!

I was able to get down to Ashton Court on Friday after work.

Managed to get a couple of mates to Ashton Court on Sunday Afternoon.. Wot made it for me, was one mate being wide eyed, once he got the hang of looking at the trail ahead.

Congrats on the engagement! Although i have just been given the look of death as she read it also. Not exciting weekend for me worked all through it. Looking forward to a house party this weekend and a visit to Lee Quarry as a Hang over cure sunday afternoon.

I discovered there is something worse than having man-flu.

Having an 8 month old son with man-flu.

Spent Saturday hanging out with some friends in the pub for the afternoon, then relaxed for the evening with the wife. Pretty great day.

Sunday - at work all day - so pretty pants as it's overtime and I'm doing 6 days a week at the moment.

Congrats on your engagement, the tip is, if you picked the right woman, she won't turn into bridezilla!

Turn on the TV, change the channel to E4 or More4 or whatever and watch "Don't Tell The Bride" or the US version. Basically, if she starts doing anything like the girls do on there, you're in for trouble.

Of course, if you start acting like the bloke in a lot of these things, I'm sure we can agree that your future wife is allowed to give you a proper slapping.

ok really, took my kids for a pootle on their bikes on Sunday morning, then in the afternoon helped a mates kid get rid of the stabilisers on his bike - the kid picked it up really well and no longer needs stabilisers!

Friday was lush, made nice supper for GF when she came home, nice lie in on Saturday, and lazy day, was going to do some gardening but weather was rubbish. Went for a crap run on Sunday (but new sports bra which was v comfy) Sunday afternoon was the usual grump-fest as GF went back to uni, then invaded by housemates smelly friends for the footie final, and his bitch gf turned up too (dunno why, she spent the entire time bitching about the football)

so 7/10.

Awesome!!

Thursday went to Morzine with 13 riding buddies and spent four days riding in The Portes du Soleil inc doing the PPDS.

Even the rain, cloud and mist on Sunday and Monday didn't dampen the spirit

A high 8/10 on the Robometer.
Fri night didnt get engaged and decided to say 'No' to both alcohol and a lady , and did most of my domestic chores.
Sat whizzed over to Stanmer then proceeded to have my @rse handed to me round the singletrack and out on the downs by a group from Essex.
Quickly followed by 2 hours windsurfing in the sunshine .
Sh ,Sh , Sh , then off out to Whiteways for a Birthday BBQ with group from Sussex. Stayed sober .
Sun am . Work early doors then Tesco for a big shop . More windsurfing ina solid F5 /gusting F6 and sunshine . Helped rescue a foreign chap who had snaped his mast about 1 1/2 miles out to sea. Got him and kit back to dry land safely eventually , and learnt a valuable lesson in towing.- Tie the knots yourself .
Sunday night cleaned bike and had a large chicken shish kebab , and no alcohol.

Congrats to the OP .
Comisserations to Dez . Get any sympathy at all ?

Dreadful. A bloke on a brand new Orange 5, 1/2 my age & about 3 stone lighter beat me up every hill in Swaledale. ( I told him the Marin Quake he's been on for a year was too heavy but at least I't got his legs working)

Early Sat the Olympic torch came through so up early to watch. Thousands lining the street. Amazing atmosphere. Then into town for breakfast. Town was heaving, at 9am!!!
Loads going on. Met family & spent day in the park, car show & all sorts going on.
Sun morning kids "helped" with chores. Then family bike ride & watched a film.
Lovely weekend.

And congrats to OP.
